What To Do in a Crisis
If you need to talk to someone urgently
- If you are feeling suicidal, like you are an imminent threat to yourself – or homicidal, thinking you might hurt another person – go directly to the ER. They will provide a social worker for you to talk to. If you are a current client, the physician in charge may or may not try to contact me to get my opinion on what might be the best treatment option for you, whether inpatient services, outpatient services, or something in-between.
- If you are not in danger but still urgently need to talk to someone:
- Call Macomb County Community Mental Health at (586) 307-9100
- Call or text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.

Please know that just because you may be feeling very upset while I am not available to help you, it doesn't mean that no qualified people are available to help. Trained professionals are available – some of them 24/7 – to listen, provide support, and help you get into a better place.
